Randi Brockhaus, a Norman native, has deep roots in the community, dating back nearly a century when her grandparents founded Brockhaus Dairy in West Norman. Raised in a family dedicated to service, Randi's mother, Cindy Brockhaus, actively volunteered for the Junior League and Assistance League, among others, while her father, Phil Brockhaus, served as a Norman Parks Board Commissioner from 1997 to 2016 and various other Boards and committees, as he does to this day. Randi and her husband, Nathan Poarch, are raising their 4-year-old son and Nathan's 13-year-old daughter in the same tradition of building a better community through service.
Randi's commitment to Norman began early, in high school, with the Assisteens, a program of the Assistance League of Norman, laying the foundation for her extensive community service. Engaging in various roles, including participating in the Continuum of Care Executive Committee, Norman NEXT, One Vision One Voice Norman, serving as President of the Board of Directors for Among Friends, being honored as a 2017 Norman NEXT Under 40 Recipient, and a graduate of Leadership Norman Class of 2016, Randi has consistently demonstrated leadership and dedication to Norman.
With over a decade of professional experience working for Norman nonprofits, Randi's primary focus has been supporting our unhoused neighbors through her work with East Main Place and Food and Shelter for Friends. Randi is poised to bring her service expertise to the City Council and is prepared to converse honestly about issues impacting Norman today. Randi is committed to working with residents, business owners, and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan to take action to address the needs of our homeless neighbors and build a safer community for all.
